The film captures the spirit of Kostiantyn Gudauskas, a citizen of Kazakhstan who sought refuge in Ukraine, bravely helping local residents in the midst of the conflict.

On January 19th and 21th, 2024 the previews of Ukrainian film BUCHA were taken іn New Jersey at Cambridge Club House and HawThorne Movie Theatre.

“Tonight was truly special, all thanks to the incredible backing from our donors, volunteers, and supporters. Your dedication, time, and effort are the key ingredients that made everything come together. We genuinely appreciate each and every one of you for being part of our mission and making tonight unforgettable”.

Forrest and Diane Elliot and friends from Rotary club of Fair Lawn Tom Kelly and the team from Oradell Rotary:

The event was attended by representatives of authorities, businesses, the public, influential people and stars who have supported Ukraine in the fight against the aggressor for two years and continue to express their support.

As part of the event, meetings were held with the creative team, in particular, the film's producer and screenwriter Oleksandr Shchur. Guests had the opportunity to take part in a panel discussion on countering Russian propaganda.

“We have two main goals. First, fight Russian propaganda around the world” – Oleksandr  Shchur, producer and screenwriter of the film “Bucha”.
Movies are one of the most powerful instruments in information delivery across the world. If someone thinks that everyone in Europe and the USA knows exactly what has happened, unfortunately, they are deeply mistaken. The Russians have already filmed and released the propaganda film “Azovstal. Liberation and Witness” with their version of the events in Mariupol and Bucha. There is a chance that the world will watch the Russian film and will accept their narrative. We must convey the truth!
Our second goal is to honor the memory of those who were murdered. We met with all characters and relatives of the victims while working on the script. The first thing we asked was whether they would be willing to tell their story to us for the film and whether such a film is needed. All of them responded “Yes, we want the world to know what happened”.

The US tour of the project ART AGAINST PROPAGANDA and screenings are supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.
