"Bucha" is based on real events experienced by thousands of Ukrainians during the Russian occupation of Kyiv region in February-March 2022. The film's foundation is the story of a volunteer from Kazakhstan, who, at the start of the full-scale invasion, evacuated civilians from the Russian-occupied city.
