Budapest Hosts Special Screening of Bucha with Screenwriter
On April 28, a special screening of the feature film Bucha took place in Budapest, organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in Hungary and the municipality of Budapest’s 9th district, Ferencváros — a sister city of Bucha in the Kyiv region.

Before the screening, the audience was addressed by the Mayor of Ferencváros, Kristina Barany, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Hungary, Fedir Shandor, and the film’s producer and screenwriter, Oleksandr Shchur.

The film, which tells the story of the courage and self-sacrifice of volunteer Kostyantyn Gudauskas during the Russian occupation of the Kyiv region, sparked lively interest and deep emotions among the audience.

After the screening, all attendees — including many Hungarians and members of the diplomatic corps — had the opportunity to speak with producer Oleksandr Shchur and learn details about the making of the film.

We sincerely thank the Mayor of Ferencváros, Kristina Barany, and her team for their cooperation in organizing this important screening, as well as Tímea Timkó for providing high-quality Hungarian translation during the conversations with journalists (before the screening) and the audience.

This was the first screening of Bucha in Budapest, and additional screenings are planned for the nearest future.
